Lyle “Scotty” Scott purchased this VanNuys (LA) built car new in November 1964 from Ostrom Chevrolet in Montebello, CA. It has been in the Scott Family ever since.
Scotty was a constant tinkerer. Doing strange things like carpeting the package tray and back seat back with fuzzy blue carpet. He also kept it well maintained so that now the original factory-built stock turbo powertrain for this car is preserved in storage. Scotty passed away in 1980 and the car went to his son Pat who “traded” his 1974 Mustang II for it to his mother, so she had an automatic to drive. Pat commuted to work in it for a few years then stored it until 1985 when his son Ron got his license and the car became his first car. After a minor fender-bender with a Cadillac, Ron decided after repairing the car, that it held too much family nostalgia to drive every day. That was 1987. It was stored and occasionally driven until 1994 when the fuel pickup broke. It remained stored until June 2018 when the full restoration began. Nearly 7 years later here we are hoping Scotty is proud of his car once again.
